i can't stop listening to ryan adams lately. he is devastatingly good. he sings with such sadness but i just can't help feeling alive. AND HE'S COMING TO KANSAS CITY. thank you yes.

ANYWAY. something hilarious. yesterday as i was doin the dishes in mah sink, i noticed some movement in our pool. i thought it was just some wasps that frequent our pool, but when i looked more closely i noticed it was a SNAKE. slitherling around the deep end. we all ran out to watch it; kind of scared, kind of interested. we figured we should help the poor guy out of the chlorine- so lauren got the pool net, reached in and pulled him out. AND THEN catapulted him over the fence! he flew like 20 feet up in the air, i kid you not. he twisted and turned in the air and looked back as to say, what the heck? we felt slightly bad, but come on. seeing a snake fly through the air? awesome.
